The founding Members of EMCOAN include Chief Wale Adenuga MFR, Dr. Opa William Phd, Debbie Odutayo, Agatha Amata, High Chief Emeka Ossai, the late Elder Ganee Adewuyi, Paul Igwe etc.
Mission
- Make available the collective programs and mediums of its members for the promotion and preservation of our Values, heritage and culture of Nigeria and join with Government and NGO’s for the promotion of images and information for the public and national good whenever the need arises
- To continually create and improve legislation for funding of socially relevant television production for the well-being of the nation
- Enhancing qualitative productions of TV and Radio content in Nigeria,
- Developing the Nigeria Radio TV Industry, create more jobs and help develop the noble profession of content ownership.

EMCOAN (Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria) is an association of Television & Radio content producers / providers and other such contents in other electronic media such as web and new media. Membership is open in two categories and representation by Chief Executive Officers only.
EMCOAN and its members controls up to 80% of all the television and radio programmes in Nigeria and very large volume on DSTV and other pay TV platforms in Nigeria and across Africa. EMCOAN principally exist to advance the business and economic interest of its members.
EMCOAN works towards the rapid integration of Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria in the social life of the country in order that peace and love may reign supreme. EMCOAN was registered in the year 2012.
EMCOAN Members currently own more than 80% of all independent Television and Radio programmes in Nigeria and controls about 60% of Television airtime and 40% radio airtime in Nigeria.
